This Examinant Saiths that on the Fourteenth day of
September last this Examinant was Robbed of a Silver
hilted Sword on the Kings Highway betwixt Newstreet
Square and Fleet Street
in the Libertyes of the City of
London
by Richd. Nichols< no role >
and this Examt: Further Saith
that about Four or Five dayes afterwards the said Richard
Nichols< no role >
with two persons more, who as this Examinant
is since informed were Theise Catshers and Acquaintances of
the said Nichols came to this Examinant at a house in New
Street Square ofd, at which time and place the said Nichols
Confessed to this Examt. that it was he that held Robbed this
Examinant of his said Sword, and that he knew where the
same then was, And the said Nichols then by himselfe or
by the aforesd: Theise takers or one of them gave this
Examt: to understand, That said Examt: night have the
same Againe but that this Examinant must pay money
for it, But wt: Sume neither the sd: Nichols nor his Friend,
did declare, but since that time this Examt: could never
heare of the said Nichols Value he heard he was confined
in New prison
on account of the said Robbers as this
Examinant beleives.
