The Deft. Ely maketh Oath That Norris Jury< no role > and Thomas Taylor< no role > were
sailors on board the Worcester Man of Warr with this Dept. and the deceased
Charles Bignell< no role > in the Veiage to the Baltiel in the Squadron under Sr. Jno. Norris< no role >
last Sumer and carryed the deceased from the said Ship to Shoar that Morning
he dyed and were present and saw what passed that Morning between ye deceased
and this dept. and are Materiall witnesses to the Fact and the Circumstanses
thereof and that Mr. Hunt and Mr. Baker were Surgeons on board the plymouth &
Defyance two other ships of Warr in the same Squadron and veiwed the
body and wounds of the said Charles Bignell< no role > and that George Young< no role > Henry
Casedy
< no role > Edward Poole< no role > Patrick Hume< no role > andAmstrong were likewise on
board the said ship the worcester dureing the time of the said Voiage that
this Dept. and the deceased were together on board and this Dept. Saith that the
said Jury Taylor Hunt Baker Young Casedy Poole Hume & Amstrong
are now gone to the Balties in the said respective ships in ye Squadron
now with Sr. John Norris< no role > as this Dept. is credibly informed and verily
beleives and this Sept. further saith that the said Jury Taylor Hunt
Baker Young Casedy Poole Hume and Armstrong are Materiall
Witnesses for him this Dept. without the benefitt of the Evidence or
Testimony of which said Witnesses he this Dept. cannot with any safly
come on or proceed to his Tryall And this Dept. is likewise informed
and beleives that the said Witnesses will be back about Michas next
and returne hither with the Squadron now under the Comand of Sr.
