The humble Petition of the Church Wardens and
Overseers of the poor of the several parishes of St Giles without
Criplegate St Botolph without Aldgate St Andrew Wardrobe St
Catherine Coleman St Andrew Holborn St Sepulchres St Brides
Allhallows on the Wall St Botolph Aldersgate and St Botolph
without Bishopsgate.
Sheweth
That yours Petitioners are Very much Over burthened with poor and
not able to raise Sufficient Sums of money amongst themselves to relieve them
notwithstanding their Assessments are greater then heretofore Yet the Charge
of the poor is for above their Assessments as the Same upon their Examinacon
hath divers times appeared to Several Worthy Aldermen of this City appointed
to hear the Same And their poor daily increasing upon their send parishes
some of them lying
lyingnear the Suburbs and others of them in the Suburbs
of the City
Their humble therefore unto Your Honr & Worp is
that you will be favourable pleased to grunt unto them the
Contributions of other parishes within this City for and towards
the poor as they have formerly had which are particularly
hereunder menconed or such further Allowance as to your
Honr & Worps shall seem meet
