The Examinacon and Confession of Francis

Who on his Examinacon Confesseth and saith That on Tuesday the Twelfth of
this Instant April He this Examt. together with one Samuel, who
lives with a Ludy That Lodges at the White peruke in Red Lyon Street
and Thomas. Griffiths< no role > who lives with a Lady at the Golden Ball in
Salisbury Court both Footmen . did about Eight a Clock in the Evening of
the day aforesaid breake into the house of Mr James Oades< no role > . in Bartletts
Buildings in the parish of St. Andrews. Holborne , by breaking one
quarey or Square of one of the back parlour windows and afterwards
Cutting the Thash of the same window which was done by the aforenamed
Samuel. who lives with the Lady aforesaid, who first entred into the
House through the same window having before opened the window Shulters
and then lifted up the Sash. And this Examt. further Confesseth & Saith
they being all. entered into the back. Parlour of the said house the Said
Saml. who lives with the Lady aforesaid broke open a Corner Cubbard
and took thereout a Bottle full. of Brandy which they drank amongest
themselves after which the said Samuel. and Thos. Griffith< no role > whoe
lives with the Ladys aforesaid when up stairs whilst the Examt. stayed in
the said parlours. to watch who Should come, That after they were come
downe again to this Examt. the said samuel aforesaid gave him halfe
a Gunien and told this Examt. they had got but little That Thomas Griffith< no role > had
a Bundle which he brought downe, and told this Examt. they were Napkins
and stockings after which they went down into the Kitchin and left the
bundle there and came out of the house by the Same way which they had
broke in, And this Examt. further Confesseth and Saith that. the next Night
the said Samuel aforesaid and himselfe went to the aforesaid house
into which the said Samuel aforesaid entred by the way he had done
before in Ordr. to fetch the [..] bundle out of the Kitchin which he did
accordingly but Some of Mr. Oades Family comeing into the house & finding it
brok [..] made a Noise which made the said Samuel. aforesaid
throw the bundle over the wall. into the Inn called Thairies Inn, and
afterwards he run away, and this Examt. further Saith that when they were
tooking about to see what was stollen, he came into the said house as one
not at all. comerned by which means. he got into the Kitchin and tooke
out of a Cubbard three Silver Spoons. the goods of the said Mr. Oades
and further this Examt. saith not.
