of the Parish of St. Alhallows on the Wall
London, and the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of St. James
at Dukes Place London respectively.

WHEREAS Complaint hath this Day been made
unto us two of His Majesty's Justices of the
Peace for this City, and the Liberties thereof (Quorum
unus) by You the Churchwardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the Parish of Alhallows on the Wall
London, That Sarah De Costa< no role > wife of Isaac De Costa< no role > with
thereabouts are now abiding in
your said Parish not having obtained any
your said Parish not having obtained any
legal Settlement there, and are likely to become charge-
able thereto by reason of the poverty of the said Sarah
minority of the said Elizabeth< no role > unless timely prevented,
which Complaint we adjudge to be true. And forasmuch
as it appears unto us by the Oath of the said Sarah De Costa
that her said Husband whilst a Singleman was an hired
yearly Servant witz one Mr. Jacob Dias< no role > a Lodger in
the parish of St James Dukes Place & lived with him as
su [..] by the space of one whole year upwards and hath
not obtained any subsequent Settlement. We the said Ju-
stices are therefore of Opinion, and do adjudge the proper
legal Settlement of the said Sarah De Costa and her daughter
Elizabeth to be in said
Parish of St. James at Dukes Place and
that thitherto they ought by Law to be sent.

THESE are therefore in His Majesty's Name to re-
quire You to remove and convey the said Sarah De Costa< no role >
and Elizabeth< no role > her Daughter
from and out of your said Parish of Alhallows on the
wall London to the said Parish of St. James at
Dukes Place and them leave with the Churchwardens
Overseers of the Poor there, or one of them, who is and
are hereby required to receive and provide for them
according to Law. Hereof fail not, and this shall be your
Warrant. Given Under our Hands and Seals the fourteenth
Day of August Anno Domini 17 19 .
