Whereas Complaint hath been this day made unto us two of His Maties.
Justices of the peace for this Citie and the libties thereof (Quor unus) by You
the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poore of the parish of St. Mary
Magdalen in Old Fish street
London That one Mary Jones< no role >
is lately come
into your said Parish not having obteined any legall settlemt. there and had
been is and is likely to continue a Charge thereto unless timely prevented
which complaint we beleive to be true And forasmuch as it appeares unto
us by the oath of the said Mary Jones< no role >
That about eight or nine yeares
agoe she was an hired yearely Servant
at five pounds P ann wages with
Mrs. Aylesworth Widow on St. Peter's Hill
in the parish of St. Peter neare
Pauls Wharfe
London with whom she lived as such by the space of one
whole yeare and upwards and has obtained noe subsequent settlemt.
We are therefore of opinion and doe adjudge the said Mary Jones< no role >
to be last
legally settled in the said parish of St. Peter neare Pauls Wharfe
London
and that thitherto she ought by Law to be sent.
These are therefore in His Maties. name to require You forthwith to remove
and convey the said Mary Jones< no role >
from and out of your said Parish of St.
Mary Magdalen in Old Fishstreet
London to the said Parish of St. Peter
neare Pauls Wharfe
London and her leave with the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poore theresome or one of them who is and are hereby
required to receive and provide for her according to Law Hereof faile not
And this shall be your Warrt. Given under our hands and seales
the eighth day of May 1717
