London upon his Examination before me

up the peace of the said County taken this
third day of May 1715.

This Examinant Confesseth that on Wednesday
the 2yth. of Aprill Last past of One of [..]
Clock in the afternoon of the Same [..]
went up two pair of Hairs in the house of the
said Nathaniell Spurling< no role > and Alone without
Company broke open one Chamber dore and
also a Closet within the said Chamber and
out of Deske in the said Closet this Examin
took away both gold and silver [..] Seven
English Guineas one other Jeere of Gold
and a great quantity of Silver money therwth
but to what Value this Examinant Knows not
And this Examinant further Saith that one John
Chapman
< no role > of the said Parish of who was at the same time playing at
Cards in the Same house before Stairs and who [..]

of the said Parish of St. Butholphs without Bishopsgate
Baker was the only person who [..]
fortnight before was [..]
Steal the said Gold and Silver and the said John
Chapman
< no role > at ye time when this Examinant Hole
the said Gold and Silver was then playing at
Cards at the said Nathaniel Spurlings< no role > house &
Soon after Stealing the Same [..] accquainted
the said John Chapman< no role > that he had stolen the same
whereupon this Examinant and the said John Chapman< no role >
Concluded to goe together into the County of Kent
and this Examinant putting Confidence in the said
John Chapman< no role > the same night he stole the said Mary
gave into the said Chapman Custody all the said Gold
and great part of the said Silver and then Came
together to Goudhurst in Kent on Thursday ye
28th. of this Instant April [..] ay to the housethe next day
