Whereas upon the Compll. of the Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor &
other Inhabitants of the parish of St. Andrews Holborn London made before
us whose hands & Seales are hereunto Set two of her Majestyes Justices of
the Peace for the Said City & near to the parish Church of St. Andrews
Holborn aforesd Quor unus) touching one Elizabeth Boreman< no role > Singlewoman
lately delivered of a male Bastard Child within the Said parish And whereas It
appears unto us that the Said Male Bastard Child is Since dead & yt. the
Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor of the Said parish of St. Andrews
Holborn did provide necessaryes for the Said Elizabeth Boreman< no role > in the time of her
lying in & for the Said male Bastard child during the life time thereof & therein
did expend the Sume of nine pounds one Shilling & £6. We the Said Justices
having taken upon us the hearing the Lt Compll. & examination of the Cause thereof
doe find by the corporall Oath of the Sd Elizabeth Boreman< no role > taken before
Germin Ireton< no role > Esqr one of her Majestyes Justices of the Peace for the County
of Middx that one James Thom< no role > a Drawer at the bull Inn in Maidstone
in the County of Kent was the true father of the Said male Bastard Child born in
the Said parish of St. Andrews Holborn And also we find by the concurring
testimonyes of Mary Farr< no role > her Midwife & Frances Ellett< no role > (also on their corporall
Oaths taken before the Said Germin Ireton< no role > Esqr) that the Said Elizabeth Boreman< no role > at
the time of her delivery & in the extremity of her pangs in her traval with the
Said Male Bastard Child did cause & charge the Said James Thom< no role > to be the
true Father of the Said male Bastard Child

And for these & other due proofs & convincing circumstances we are altogether
satisfyed that he the Said James Thom< no role > was Father of the Said Male bastard
Child born on the body of the Said Elizabeth Boreman< no role > as aforesaid in the Said
parish of St. Andrews Holborn

And thereupon we doe order for the releif & to Saw harmless the Said parish of St.
Andrews Holborn & the Inhabitants thereof that the Said Jones Thom shall forthwith
upon sight of this our Order (a true wpps hereof being delivered unto him) pay or
cause to be paid to the Lt Churchwardens & overseers of the poor of the Said parish
the Said Sume of nine pounds one Shilling & Six pence being the Sume by them
expended in providing necessaryes for the Said Elizabeth Boreman< no role > in her lying in & for
the Said male bastard Child in the life time thereof or else personally to appear at
the next generall quarter Sessions of the peace to be holden in & for this City of
London & abide such order as the Justices at the Said Sessions shall make in the
prmisses Given under our hands & Seales this thirteenth day of June in the fifth
year of the reign of our Sovereign Lady Ann by the Grace of God of England hotland
France & Ireland Queen Defendr. of the Saith Etc Annoqr Dni 1706 .
