The humble Peticon & Appeale of the Churchwardens &
Overseers of the Poore of the Parish of St. Antholins
London

Sheweth


That by virtue of a Warrant under the hands and Seales of twoe other Maties
Justices of the Peace within the City of London (One being of the Quox) Dated
the First day of August Anno Dni 1706. One Elizabeth Ballard< no role > late wife of
Henry Ballard< no role > Decd were brought to yor. Petrs. (to be provided for) by the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poore of the Parish of St. Gyles without
London upon the Oath of one Mary Langley< no role > That the last legall Settlement
of the Said Henry Ballard< no role > was in yor. Petrs. Parish where hee lived and Served
as Appntice by Indenture to one Edwards in Cobbs Court in Budge Rowe
Barber Whereas in truth the Said Henry Ballard< no role > was only turned over to the
Said Edwards under colour to Obteyne his Freedome of the City After which
hee tooke a house in Bread Streete Ward where hee was last legally a Setled
Inhabitant in the Parish of Alhallowes Bread Streete And that his last legall
Settlement was not in yor. Petr. Parish

Yor. Petrs. humbly Pray yor. Honor. and Worpps. to hear
them in the prmisses And Quash the Said Warrant made by
the Said twoe Justices And send the Said Elizabeth Ballard< no role > back
to the Parish of St. Gyles to be by them Provided for and
mainteyned untill They can Free themselves of the Charge
thereof by due Course of Lawe

And Yor. Petrs. Shall Ever Pray Etc.
