To the Rd Honourable Sr . Richard Levett< no role > Knt . Lord Major
of the Citty of London And to the Rt. Worll. the Rest of his Maties
Justices of the Peace in the Generall Quarter Sessions Assembled

The Peticon & Appeale of the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poore
of the Parish of St. Peters Paul wharffe London

Sheweth

That by virtue of a Warrant under the Hands and Seales of twoe of his Maties.
Justices of the Peace within this Citty (one being of the Quor) Dated the 20th. day of February
1699 One Alice Barnes< no role > was by the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poore of the Parish
of St. Mary Somersett London brought to yor. Petrs. To be provided for upon the Oath
of Martha Freeman< no role > That the last legall Settlement of Barnes to be husband of the
said Alice Barnes< no role > was in yor. Petrs. parish where hee dwelt in Robinhood Courte about
Sixteene yeares agoe And that the said Barnes. died and was Buried in yor. Petrs. said
Parish whereas in truth the said Alice Barnes time the death of her husband
Barnes in August 1692 married to one Nicholas Simons< no role > who was then long before and
hire an Inhabitant legally settled in the Parish of St. Mary Somersett where They lived together severall
yeares ao man and wife and where the said Nicholas Simons< no role > died and was
Buried

Yor. Petrs. therefore Pray They may be heard on their Appeale
And that the said Alice Barned may be Sent to the said Parish
of St. Mary Somersett where her last husband Nicholas Simond< no role >
were an Inhabitant To be by them kept and provided for
untill They Can Free themselves of the charge therefore
by due Course of Lawe

And They Shall Pray Etc
