Whereas Complaint was this day made unto Us by
the Church wardens of the pish of St Buttolph
wth out Algate London That John < no role > Thomas < no role > and Richard < no role > three
Children of Giles Lake< no role > Currier is become chargeable
to the sd pish, and that their sd Father was onely an
Innmate their for about six or seaven moneths and is
now runn away and never paid now charged to pay any
Pish duties there And whereas it appeares unto his
upon Exaiacon of the matter upon Oath and by a
Certificate under the hands of Decton Forbes and
the Churchwardens of the Pish of St Magdalen
Bermondsey in the County of Surrey that the hath
legall aboade & Settlemt of the sd Giles Late was in
the Sd last menconed pish where he served his
apptiship and was married Wee therefore Sr
Edward Clarke< no role > but Lord Maior of the City afd
London and Sr Robert Geffery< no role > Knt
one of the Aldren of the same City and two of his
Mats Justices of the peace for the same City (Quor
unus) Do in his Mats name strictly charge and
require you forthwth. to passe & convey the Said
three Children out of your Pish into the sd Pish of
Mary Magdalen Bermondsey and leave be in we
the Churchwardens or Overseers of the poore
thereof to be taken care & providers for according to
law And wee doe further in his Mats name charge
& comaind this the sd Churchwardens & Overseers
to take care & provide for the sd three Children
as they do for their other poore And this shall
be your warrt Given under our hands and
seales this 27th day of August 1697
