The humble Peticon of the Churchwardens & Overseers of the
Poore of the Pish of St. Buttolph wth.out Algate London .

Sheweth

That yor. Petrs. are very much overburthened with Poore And not able
to raise sufficient sumes of money amongest themselves' to releive them
Notwithstanding their Assessements are greater their heretofore Yett the
charge of them Poore is far above their said Assessemt. As the same
upon full examination hath many times Appeared to divers Aldren
of this City appointed to heare the same And their Poore dailey increaseing
upon them the said Pish lyeing in the Suburbs of the City.

Their humble Suites therefore unto yor. good Honors. &
Worpps. is That you will be favourably pleased to grant
unto them the contribution of £50. from other Pishes within
this City for and towardes the releiveing their Poore As
they have formerly had by reason of their greate charge
and numbers of Poore as aforesaid Or such further
allowance As to yor. Honors. & Worpps. shall seeme meete.
