It appearing this day unto this Court that
Thomas Bond< no role >

at the Rose in
Woodstreet
& Thomas Whitehead< no role >
victualer
at the Swan
in Grocers Alley
doe keepe
Alehouses & receive & deteyne in Custody
persons arrested for Debt (who ought by the
Custome of this City to be imediately
brought to Baile or put into one of the
Compters of this City) and Exact from them
great Sumes of Money, & perticulerly that the
said Thomas Bond< no role >
did lately receive one John
Smith< no role >
into his house. & there deteyne him
Prisoner fifteene dayes for which hee reced
of him five pounds, & that the said Thomas
Whitehead< no role >
did likewise receive Jno. King in
his house & deteyne him prisoner eighteen
dayes for which hee reced Forty Shillings, both
which persons where afterwards; when their
money was spent, delivered over to the Compter
& their Creditors defrauded of their Debts,
It is ordered by this Court that the sd. Alehouses
be forthwith Suppressed & their Licenses taken
away.
