upon Oath before me Robert Smith< no role > Esquire one of his Majesty's Justices of the
in and for the said County this Seventeenth day of November 1789.

And first the said Barnet Benjamin< no role > says on Saturday last about
five o'Clock he went into the Change in Rosemary Lane and found his Chest (which
Stands in the said Charewithcontaining Cloaths of Disfront Sorts) had been Broker open
and the Prisoner (who says his Name is William Lewis< no role > ) laying down beyond the
said Chest with hart of the things produced by this side of him that upon looking the things
over he found four Coats one pair of Breeches and three Waistcoats which are now
produced prisoner Confessed he had sold two pair of Breeches to Mr. Carter which are
also produced which said Several things are his property and are of the Value of three
Pounds that he Secured the Prisoner till an office came.

Thomas Collard< no role > says on Saturday last between four and five o'Clock
in the Evening Mr. [..] Benjamin called to him and said he had got a Thief
that he went up to him and see the things produced lay on the Ground he desired
Prisoner (if any thing had been carried away) to tell where it was that it might be
got Back and in that case perhaps he might come Better off Prisoner said
he had sold two pair of Breeches and would shew them the Shop Prisoner
then gave him two Keys me of which opened the lock of Mr. Benjamin

Joseph Bear< no role > says on Saturday last about five o'Clock he was sent for
into Rosemary Lane when the Prisoner was given into his Charge by Mr.
Barnet Benjamins< no role > that he went with the Prisoners to Mr. Carters Shop in
Rosemary lane and Inquired if he had purchased any Breeches from Prisoner
whenMr. Carter said he had and produced the two pare now here produced
which Mr. Barnet Benjamin< no role > says one his Property
