The Information of William Davis< no role > of High Street in the
Parish of Saint Paul Shudwell in the said County Grocer and
John Edwards< no role > of the same Place Salesman Taken before me
one of his Majesty Justice of the Peace in and for the said
County.

Who being on their Oath Severally Say and first the said William Davis< no role >
for himself saith that between two and three O'Clock in the Afternoon of
Saturday last he saw the two persons present who Say there names are William
Simpson
< no role > and Robert Steward< no role > [..] Opposite the door of Informant Edwards House
looking at a pair of Books which Steward them had in his hand who walked
away towards Wellclose Square with the Boots in his hund, Saith that he
saw Simpson go to the Corner of Union Street and looked round to see if any
body was in the way and then walked on as far as Mrs Barrows or
the Paviers Arms Crossed the way to the Appointe Sute and having walked or
little way on that Side again went over to the Corner of union Street near
Informant Edwards [..] Window looked about him some little times and then took
the Pari of Black Sattin Breeches now produced from Off a nail on which they were hung [..]
on the Autoside of Informant Edwards Shep and went away with them along
as far as Mr Hardys Shop when Informant followed him Secured him
and Breeches and delivered him into the Custody of Mr. James Naish< no role > the
Constable to Saint Paul Shudwell , by whom he was taken the Public Office
ShadwellAnd this Informant John Edward< no role > for himself Saith
that about Twenty Minutes before the time Mentioned in the Information of
Informant Davis two persons came into his Shop (One of whom he is certain
is the prisoner William Simpson< no role > ) under pretence of Buying a Checque Shirt but
not agreement for Price they both ment away Saith that at the time mentioned
in Davis Infomant he Informant Davis) brought Simpson into his
Shop together with the pair of Breeches now produced which he possitively declares
are his properly and are of the value of Six Shillings

taken and Sworn this 20th.
