The Informations of Ellen Boyd< no role > John Bunce< no role > &
Thomas Brown< no role > and Henry Crocker< no role > taken upon
Oath the 28th. September 1789

Who upon their several Oaths say and first the said
Ellen Boyd< no role > for herself saith that the Prisoner William Dann< no role >
came to her Husband Thomas Boyds< no role > House called the
African [..] Chief in Wilsted Street Summers Town in
the Parish of St. Pancras on Saturday the 26th. Day of
September Instant and asked if the master of the House was
at Home to which she replyed he was not then he gave
her a Billed upon which she said it was not Convenient for
to lodge him but she wod. pay him for the two nights as
expressed in such Billett & asked him what he required
he said three Shillings she offered him two Shillings &
told him she wod. give no more upon which he took the
two Shillings & went away

John Bunce< no role > for himself saith that he is a Publican
& keeps the Boot Publick House near Summers Place
in the Parish of St. Pancras afore sd. that the Prisoner
William Dawn< no role > came to his House with a Billett in the name
of John Jackson< no role > but he the sd. John Bunce< no role > not being at House
his Wife gave him some Victuals that he returned House in
a short Time when the Prisoner William Dann asked him
if it was agreable to him to pay him the sd. William Dann
instead of lodging him in the House he having a Recruit
which he was afraid he shod. loose in case he was
not constantly along with him the Prisoner these wanted
to bring him to sleep along with him at the sd. John Bunces
House wch. the sd. John Bunce< no role > refused the Prisoner
William Dann then said if you will return me the
Billett and give me a Glass of Brandy I'll get the
