Esther Hacker< no role > Spinster (Servant to Simcon Droz of
Borners Street near Oxford Road in the County of Middlesex
Esquire) Maketh Oath and saith that during the absence of
her Master the said Simeon Droz in the County in or about the
Month of October which was in the Year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and eight eight this Deponent together with
Jane Morgan< no role > Goodall of Oxford Market had a silver spoon
the Property of her Master the said Simeon Droz which was
suspected to be stolen by the said Benjamin Goodall< no role > being
taken before a Justices of the Peace was detained But according
to the best of this Deponent Knowledge and belief she this Deponent
did not take any Oath nor enter in to any Engagement to
appear as a Witness and this Deponent further saith that she
has received Notice that she not appearing according to the Condition
of her Recognizance the same is become for feited and this
Deponent further saith that she was ignorant of the nature
and Consequences of the Business being unlearned and [..] acquainted
with Matters of this Nature And this Deponent further saith
that on her Masters Arrival in Town she informed him of the loss
of the said spoon and what she and her fellow servant had done in
Consequence there of and as she did not receive any further orders from
her Master the said Jime on Droz she thought she was not to do any
thing further therein and this Deponent further saith that the said
Jane Morgan< no role > this Deponent's late Fellow Servant hath left the
Service of the said Simeon Droz< no role > for several Month last past And
this Deponent doth not know where the said Jane Moyan now
resides and this Deponent further saith that to the best of her
knowledge and belief the said Jane Morgan< no role > was also ignorant
of the nature and consequences of the business and this Deponent
further saith that she did not [..] or neglect to prosecute the said
Benjamin Good< no role > all through Jason a attention to ward him a this
any other Motive or Cause what so wer save ignorance as aforesaid
and [..] for want of Orders from her said Master.
