The Information of John Berken head taken
on Oath the Twentieth day of July 1789 before
me one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace
for
the County of Middlesex
Who Saith that he is a Jeweller
and Gives in Gutter Lane
Cheapside
London And that on Tuesday the Fourteenth
day of July Instant his Dwelling house was Feloniously
broke open and that there was Stolen and carried away
therefrom One large Silver Cup and a large Quantity
of other plate his property And that he found one Iron
Crew now produced by him by his Compting house door, and
one Iron Chisell< no role >
in the Window of an Empty house adjoining
his yard, and a dark Lanthorn now produced by him on
the Floor in the said Empty house, And that on the
Monday Evening preceeding the Robbery a large dogg
of him this Informant which he kept for the safety of
his Yard and Premisses was killed by poison and
dyed at his Room door
