Street Holborn Cabinet Maker and Broker, Thomas Dixon< no role >
Porter to John Arthur< no role > , and Robert Orford< no role > at Mr
Brooks No< no role > 23 Holborn Pawn broker and Salesman
taken on Oath before me this 28th. day of August 1789

Who being on Oath severally say and first the said John
Arthur
< no role > for himself says, that on the 9th. day of July last, there was Stolen
from his Shop door in Great Queen Street , a Circular Mahogany
Card table, and that the table now produced by the said Robert
Orford
< no role > is the same as was so Stolen, and is this Informants
property; And the said Thomas Dixon< no role > for himself says, that the
Table now produced was Feloniously Stolen from his Master's
Shop door as aforesaid, whilst he this Informant was gone into the
ShopWarehouse tofetchget another table, which he was ordered
to carry to a Customer. And the said Robert Orford< no role > for
himself says, that in the Afternoon of the said 9th. of July last,
the Prisoner now present, who calls himself John Smith< no role > came
to his Masters house in Holborn, and asked Informant, if he would
buy a table, Informant replied he could not buy it without seeing
it, that said John Smith< no role > then said, he would go and fetch it, that in
about a quarter of an hour he returned, and brought the tablewith
now produced by this Informant with him. that Informant gave
him a Guinea for it, and further agreed to give said John Smith< no role >
One Guinea and an half for the fellow to it, which he said he
should have finished in a few days, but that he never
brought it.
