The Information of John Hortford< no role > a Lodger on the
one pair of Stairs in the House of David otherwise
Daniel Clarey in Pultency Street taken before me
this first day of April 1788

Housekeeper to said Clarey knocked gently at this Informant
Bed Room Door and said for Gods sake Mr. Herford take care
of your Wife I believe there is a Fire in the next House, that on the Room
Door being opened the Smoak came into the Room. That
immediately after this he removed what Effects he could to
the Milk Cellar opposite his Lodgings and had full time
enough to save all his EffectsExcept a few trifles that he
saw David otherwise Daniel Clarey in the Street who told
this Informant he was undone, and had lost £500
in Bank notes that Clary ran up towards Brewer Street
and was at this time dressd with his Shoes exchanged the
Right for the left as appeared by his Buckles that this
Informant is of Opinion that if Clarey had any property
