The Several Information of Edward Fredway< no role >
Jacob Freeman< no role > George Meachum< no role > and John Clarke< no role > Taken the 8th of
March 1788

Who upon their Oaths severally say and first the said Edward Fredway< no role > for himself
saith that he received an Information of three people being at work in Counterfeiting the
Coin of this Kingdom in Westons Park Lincolns Inn Fields, that yesterday morning
he went to the said house and went up stairs and opened the door that one
William James< no role > had something in his hand rubbing between his finger and thumb
that he seized hold of his Arm but could not present his putting what he had in
his hand in his mouth and swallowing it, that one Catherine Hayland< no role > was
standing by James's said, that soon after one Ann Allen< no role > came into the Room, when
he searched her and found two papers in one of which was a large Quantity of
Shillings and Six pences all finished and fit for circulation and in the other paper
a like Quantity of Base Couterfeit Money that he found in the Window
a put in with two Six pences in it in some Water two Sancers in one of which was some dried

Jacob Freeman< no role > Sworn says that he accompanied Fredway Yesterday Morning that
when he entered the room he saw James Rubbing something between his finger and thumb
which he put into his mouth and believe swallowed that Catherine Hayland stood
close by him whom he saw put something into her bosom, that he found by James
feet a Bag in which were
a Scissars and a file that in a Stove in the Room to found some Charesal part of which
was burnt, a Crucible by the side of the Fire and a Bellows that in a large Box he
found the following Articles Vizt. Assume and two boards made use of Casting, a
Brush a Sieve, some Scoring paper, that by the side of the Box he found a large paper
with sand in it that in the Chimney piece he found two Bottles one with Acque fortis in
it, and the other with same kind of Spirts, that Heyland had an Apron in which were
several holes that he believe they were burnt by Acque fortis

George Meacham< no role > Sworn says that he accompanied Fredway and Freeman that he
searched Heyland and in her Cosom found two papers one contained Nine Six pences and
in the other 3 Six pences which were fit for circulation that searching found the room he found
in a Table Drawer a pair of Seales a Seissars , a file & some Arsine that on the Ground he found
some Blacking

John Clarke< no role > says that he accompanied Fredway, Freeman and Meacham, that when he came
into the before mentioned Room he saw James on the ground and Freeman searching
him that he saw the Base Money taken from Heyland and likewise from
Allen, and that all the before mentioned Articles were found in the
before mentioned Room
