The Informations of John Peters< no role >
of the black Dog in Bishops gate Street
Labourer and Philip Ripkey< no role > due of
the Watchmen of the Parish of Saint
Paul Covent Garden taken before
me this 21th. day of July 1787 .

Who being upon Oath Severally Say and frist the
Said John Peters< no role > for himself Says That as he was
Setting and one of the Stands in Covent Garden
Market this Morning about two o'Clock at Which
time the Person now present who calls himself
Nicholas Fuge< no role > was sitting by him That he felt the
Hand of said Fuge in his Breeches Pocket Soon after which
the said Fuge ran away That upon his feeling in his
said pocket he found one Shilling one six pence a quantity
of half pence a Knife and a piece of Sealing Wax taken
away That he Pursued him immediately and cry'd
''Stop Thief when the said Philip Ripkey< no role > Secured him
And this Informant further Says that the Knife now
produced by said Ripkey in his property and was stolen
from him by the said Fuge And that he verily believes
the money also now produced is the Same Money that
was taken from him as aforesaid And the Said Philip
Ripkey
< no role > for himself says That at this time he was on
duty in Russell Street That on hearing the cry of ''Stop
''Thief'' he pursued the said Fuge and Secured him That
when he came up to him he collar'd him at which time
he threw away the Knife and Money now produced.
