of his Hanger against his Body and said if he did not come out
of the Ground that Instant he would push it into him, Jackson
then came out and he search'd him but found nothing upon him
This Informant then insisted he should go with him towards
W Hughes house which he was not Inclined to do but he
made him go, and when he came facing the house he call'd out
W Hughes several times and he saw a Light thro' the Key hole
of the Door and two Persons came and opened it and this
Informant asked them if the Prisoner Jackson Worked for Mr
[..] Hughes one of them answered very softly "yes" That this
Informant began then to have great suspicion That W Hughes
house had been broke open and some Persons wee Robbing it
Her then call'd out M Hughes several times very loud and
upon M Hughes's Foreman Answering him Four Fellows
Rushed out of the house and as soon as one of them got about
two Yards from him he presented a Pistol at him and pulled
the Trigger which flashed in the pan the first two persons
then ran away and got upon the Bank upon which this
Informant drew back let go Jackson and immediately put
his hand to his own Pistol and when Jackson got upon the
bank to the other two one of them turned about and send
"Bugger his Eyes Shoot him." This Informant Called out
Fire away I have got as many Pistols as you have which
the did and the shot went over his head And this Informant
the Returned the Fire and one of them put his hand to his Side
and appeared to be Wounded upon which Jackson em done
of the others ran to him and took him under the Arms and Carried
him off And this Informant would have followed them but he had
no more Powder and BallThat he did not see either of the Persons
until near four Weeks afterwards when he was informed that a
Person was in Custody answering the Description of Jackson and
this Informant went to the Bridewell in St Georges Fields South warn
and there saw him and immediately knew him to be the same Person
