The Information of Thomas Wakerley< no role > of
No 131 Fetter Lane in the City of London
and Ann Stokes< no role > of Benfield in the
County of Berks Spinster taken before me
this 20th. day of March 1786

Who being upon Oath say, and first the said Thomas Wakerley< no role >
says that the Warehouse of Messrs Henry Bankes< no role > and Company
in Essex Street in the Strand hath lately been broke open and
robbed of a Quantity of black Lead and that he doth verily believe
that the Black Lead now produced is part of the Lead which was
taken away from said WarehouseThe said Ann Stokes< no role >
for herself saith that on Sunday Morning the 5th. day of March
instant as she was passing by the said Warehouse she observed
the traces of Mens feet in the Snow with in the [..] Iron Rails
which fence the Court bading to the Door of said Warehouse
and on more particularly looking at said Footsteps she
perceived a Quantity of Lead Dust lye upon the snow from
which Circumstance this Informant is very sure that said
Warehouse had lately been Robbed and that the Lead Dust had
been dropped in carrying the Lead away

Sworn before me this
20th. day of March 1786}
