The Information of Richard Beatley< no role > Mary< no role > his Wife
and Gawen Cron< no role > of Gold Street St. George Middlesex
taken this 30th. Sepr 1785 And first the said Richard Beatly on
his Oath saith the Prisoner now present who says his name is Robert Simpson< no role >
on Tuesday night the 27th Instant between the hours of Eight and Nine followed
him as he was going home with his said Wife and desired to let him lay these
saying he could not get into his lodgings that said Robert went with them
and would be content if he layd on the Floor which he did. Says about the
hour of Four next Morning his said Wife awoke him saying her Mony
was gone and the man was gone. Says last night between the hours of ten
and Eleven he saw the said Robert Simpson< no role > in a Public house called the help
way house in the Road to Stepney who he laid hold off and charged him with
robbing this Informant to the Amount of Seven pounds nineteen Shillings and
Six pence One Waistcoat and One Shirt of Check Linnen and which Shirt is
now produced which he had on Says Thirteen Shillings and six pence of the
said Sum was taken out of his Informants pocket as he laid a sleep in
bed on the night of the 27th. Instant Mary Beatley< no role > for herself saith out of Charity
she agreed with her said Husband to permit the said Robert Simpson< no role > to Clap
on the Floor of the Bed Room in which she and her husband Slept That she
awoke about the Hour of Four in the Morning of the 28th. and Missed
her Pocket from under her Bed in which Pockets was a Box containing
Six Guineas and One half Guinea in Gold and Nine Shillings and six
pence in Silver that she awaked her said husband and told him her
[..] money was gone and the Man meaning the said Robert Simpson< no role >
That she got up Struck a light and found the Shirt now produced gone
and a Waistcoat the property of her said Husband That she was present
at the taking of the said Robert Simpson< no role > and Challenged him with having
her said Husbands Shirt then or which Shirt is now produced
Gawen Cron for himself saith the said Richard Beatly and his Wife went
a Room in his house and about the Hour of One in the Morning of Wednesday
the 28th: Instant he heard some person come down Stairs open the fore door of his
said house and from Circumstances no person being missed who were in his house
the Night before he believes the said Robert Simpsons to be the person who went
out of his house as aforesaid
