Be it remembered that on the 7th. day
of May in the Twenty fifth Year of the Reign
of our Sovereign Lord George the Third of Great Britain
France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith Etc. John
North
< no role > of the Parish of Saint James within the Liberty of
Westminster in the County of Middlesex Salesman
personally came before me James Fielding< no role > Esquire one
of His Majesty's Justices assigned to keep
the Peace in the City and Liberty of Westminster and
acknowledged himself to one to our said Lord the King the
sum of forty Pounds good and lawful Money of Great
Britain to be made and levied of his Goods and Chattles Lands
and Tenements to the Use of our said Lord the King his Heirs
and Successors if he the said John North< no role > Shall fail in
the Condition hereunder written that is to say

The Condition of this Recognizance is such That if the
above bounden John North< no role > Shall Personally appear at the
next General Sessions of the Peace to be holden at the New
Sessions House upon Clerkenwell Green in and for the County
of Middlesex and then and there five Evidence to the Grand
Jury upon one or more Bill or Bills of Indictment to be
preferred against George Baptist< no role > James Sewell< no role > and John Paul< no role >
respectively for feloniously stealing taking and carrying away
from and out of a Grave in the Chancel of the Parish Church
of Saint James aforesaid and from and out of the North
Vault under the same Parish Church divers lead Coffins the
property of persons unknown And in Case the said Bills of
Indictment shall be found true Bills do and shall Personally
appear and give Evidence to the Jury impannelled to try
the said Indictments at the Sessions House in the Old
Bailey London and do not depart the Court without Leave Then
