The Information of John Dickson< no role > a Fisherman
Lodger at Mr. Edward Evances< no role > of Shadwell high
Street in the County aforesaid. Taken this fifth
day of June 1784 before us two of his Majesty's
Justices of the peace in and for the said County.

Who being on his Oath saith that about half past Eleven
OClock in the Evening of Thursday this Twentieth day of May
last as he was going from his Lodgings aforesaid to Barking on
Effect: having then in his possession and in his hand a Bag
containing one blue serge Jacket One Check Linen Shirt hay
a pound of Tobacco One pair of Robbed Worsted Stockings
and two silk Handkerchiefs he was slept by two men
about six Yards from Salmons Lane the upper End of
White horse Street Stepney . One of whom clapt his hands over
his Mouth.

That Information then making some resistance the said man
Called to the other man (who is now present and whose name is
William Cook< no role > ) and said get the Pistoles and let us Shoot him
or murder him.

That Informant having known the prisoner cook from a Child
and having drank with him that morning at Billings gate
in Campany with two men whose names are Frogley and Allen
called him by his name and said for Gods sake do not murder
me, and Informant being than in fear and apprehensive he should
be murdered he sprang from them and ran away leaving the
Articles abovementioned and this bag, the which [..] has never since
seen or heard ofAnd this Informant further saith that
he is quite positive as to the person of the prisoner Cook being one
of the said two persons who put him in Bodily fear and
Committed the robbery abovementioned having known him from
his Earliest Infancy as also the said Cook father who lived
at Barking aforesaid where this Informant also lived many
Years. but saith he verily believes he should have been
Murdered had it not been for the prisoner Cook and further
this Informant Saith not.
