Taken and made on oath before us
two of his Majestys Justices of the peace
in and
for the said County the 10th. day of February 1784
Who Saith That on Thursday Evening last he Took
into his Custody the body of one Thomas Capp< no role >
(upon the Charge of William Hitchen< no role >
of
Broad Street
Bloomsbury
Victualler
) for Stealing a
large Iron bar from his the said William Hitchens
Dwelling House in Broad Street
aforesaid That the said
Thomas Capp< no role >
Confessed to this Informant he did
Steal the said Iron Car and that he Cut the Same in
Several pieces and carried and Sold ittoat an Iron
Shop in Chick Lane
the same Morning, That this
Informant Took the said Thomas Capp< no role >
before a Justice
of the peace the next Morning and by his Direction
he went with prisoner to the House of Elizabeth Aldy
in Chick Lane
aforesaid where the prisoner had Sold the
Iron and upon Searching the House he found the Iron
now produced (which the prisoner and the said Thomas
Immediately Identified) in a Box underneath some
other Iron That this Informant then took into Custody
one William Edwards< no role >
-who appeared to this Informant to be
the Master of the Shop he being at that time Serving a
Customer therein and the said Elizabeth Aldy promised
to appear before the Justice but She not appearing
according to such promise She was also Taken into
Custody for Receiving the said Iron knowing the same
to have beentheStolen
