on suspicion of Privately stealing in the Apartment of
Joseph Stoney< no role >
of George Street
Forter Lanein the Liberty of
St. Martin Le Grand in the said County one Pair of Sheets
upon the Bed one Pair of Sheets which lay upon a Box
and other things Sheet were left in the said Box in
Thursday the 15th day of this Instant January 1784
This Informant upon his Oath saithThat
Harty Hart< no role >
came to his Masters House last Thursday
night aforesaid inthe Middle ofGeorge Forster LaneStreet in the Liberty of St Martin [..] about a
quarter before seven. That he saw him come up three
pair of Stairs and asked this Informant of his Master was
at home. That he asked him if his Master had any Aqua
fortis. That he shewedpaidhim into a one Pair of Stairs Room
which had not been opened after his Master went out.
That he asked this Informant to leave him a Candle and
advised him to go up to work, whereupon he left him alone in
the Room. In about Ten Minutes Harty Hart< no role >
called
to this Informant as he was going down stairs and said he
was going, upon which this Informant look'd into the
Room to see if the Fire was safe and lock'd the Door and
went up stairs again to workThis Informant staid up stairs
until a Quarter before Ten untill his Master came home
