one of his MAJESTY'S Justices of the Peace for the
County of Middlesex , this 12th. Day of June

Who Says that that he did not Steal the gold
Bracclet now produced and sworn to by the said
Ann Catley< no role > but that he bought the same about
three weeks, ago of a Man whom he was
drinking with at a public House at Manchester
(whom he doth not know) and paid said Man
thirty six shillings for the same and further saith
that he on Monday last delivered the said Bracclet
to a person now present who calls herself Elizabeth
Roberts< no role > and desired her to pawn it for him
