The Information of Sarah Gibbs< no role > of Duck Lane
Westminster Spinster taken before me this 22nd..
day of August 1782

Who being upon Oath says that one Day last Week
she saw a person now present who calls himself James Taylor< no role >
with (as she doth verily believe) a Drab coloured Great Coat now
produced hanging on his Arm in Duck Lane Westminster That
she never saw the said Coat either before or since that time nor
knows nothing of his having purchased itThat this morning
Mrs. Taylor Wife of the said James Taylor< no role > came to this Informants
Lodging in Duck Lane aforesaid (who was at this time in
Bed) That said Mrs. Taylor told this Informant that her
Husband was in Bow Street and desired this Informant to
go there and say that "she had seen the said Taylor buy
the said Coat of a Jew in Rag Fair last Wednesday was
fortnight and pay the said Jew a Guinea for it"and further
says that this was the only Inducement for her saying the
same to Thomas Gilbert< no role > Esqr. one of his Majestys Justices of
the peace and that she never saw said Taylor buy the
same, nor have it, except the time abovementioned
