The Information of Anthony
Joseph
< no role > a Lodger at the three Crowns in East
Smithfield . (who being a Portuguese and
not understanding Sufficient of English) is
Interpreted by Judah Bolibal< no role > of East
Smithfield aforesaid.

Who being upon his Oath Saith that about Ten o'Clock
in the Evening of Thursday the Sixteenth of August Instant
he was standing at the doors of the Three Crowns above
mentioned when two men came up to him and began to
Talk with him and immediately One of the said two Men
Stopt this Informants Months with his hand
while the other look the Watch which was Silver out of
his Pocket. That the Person who look the Watch gave it
to the other Man who run away with it immediatelybootand
is not yet Apprehended as Informant believes. but that
a Person now present [..] who calls himself John Free< no role >
And who was Immediately taken after Committing the
Robbery is the real and Identical Person who took the
Watch out of his Pocket and delivered it to the other
Person who has made his Escape.

Taken and Sworn this 20th. day of
August 1781 before me one of
his Majestys Justices of the Peace in
and for the said County}
