The Information of Lyon Phillips< no role > , taken and
made on Oath before me one of his Majesty's Justices
of the Peace for the County of Middlesex , the 23rd.
day of June 1781.

This informant on his Oath saith, that he is Shopman
to Benjamin Phillips< no role > Salesman in Rosemary Lane in the
said County. That on Wednesday last the 20th. day of June
instant between the Hours of eight and nine o'Clock in the
morning, two Pieces of striped Ticking, containing Seventy
two Yards of the value of Thirty Shillings were feloniously
stolen out of the said Benjamin Phillips< no role > 's Shop in Rosemary
Lane aforesaid the property of the said Benjamin Phillips< no role > .
That immediately after, on this Informants being told that
a Man had stolen the said Pieces of Ticking and was gone
with the same through Rosemary Branch Passage into Little Prescot
Street this Informant followed after, and saw one William
Cutler
< no role > walking along Little Prescot Street with the said two Piece
of Ticking under his Arm; and that on a Cry of, Stop Thief,
the said William Cutler< no role > threw the Ticking down, and
endeavored to run away, but was stopped by some person
and taken into Custody.
