Oath before me one of his Majesty's Justices
of the peace for the County of Middlesex
the
3rd. day of April 1781.
These Informants on their Oaths say and first the said
Esther Haines< no role >
saith that on Friday the 30th. day of March
last this Informants Apartment in a House belonging to
Martha Cox< no role >
Widow
in Long Alley Shoreditch
in the said
County was broke open by some person or persons unknown
to her and the following things her property stolen and
carried away vizt. one (linen' Gown one Cotton Gown one
Cotton Bed Gown four linen Caps one black Bonnet one lawn
apron two Shifts ten yards of black Lace and other wearing
apparel
And the said Thomas Jacks< no role >
saith that by Virtue of a
Warrant he apprehended Virtue Wicks< no role >
and Catharine Evans< no role >
in a Public House in Whitecross Street
Saint Lukes on
Suspicion of Stealing the above things and found in the
Possession of the said Virtue Wicks< no role >
one black Bonnet a Quanty
of black Lace two yards of made on Shift and four Caps and
in the Possession of the said Catharine Evans< no role >
one Green
Petticoat. And the said Esther Haines further saith that
the said Things so found by the said Thomas Jacks< no role >
are part
of the same things which were stolen out of her apartment
as aforesaid.
