this Informant, And which said Handkerchief is
now Sworn to be the property of the other Informant
Margaret Vialls< no role > .

And this Informant James Baker< no role > for himself upon his Oath
Saith,That he is one of the Constable of the Parish of St Mary
le bone in the County of Middlesex , And was Constable of the
Night, upon Duty at the Watch House of the said Parish on
Saturday Night the Second of Decemr. instant 1775, And that
at about half an Hour after Twelve o'Clock on that Night
A person now present, who calls himself Charles Chapman< no role >
was brought to the said Watch House, and delivered into the
Custody of this Informant, Charged with having Committed
a Burglary and Felony in the House of Mr. Benjamin
Vialls
< no role > in the said Parish, Where, (having some Conversation
with the said Charles, touching the said Robbery,) And Asking
him If he had any Confederates, The said Charles told
this Informant He knew he shou'd be hanged, for
that it was He who had Committed the said Robbery.
And this Informant further Saith, That the said Charles
Chapman
< no role > told this Informant in what Manner he
Committed the said Robbery, And that it was by
getting over a Wall in the back yard [..] of
Mr Viall's House, where he broke a Pane of Glass in
his (the said Mr. Viall's) Back Parlour Window, either
with his Elbow or with his Hand; Unserewed the
Screw which fastened down the Sash, Lifted up that
said sash, went in to the said Rooms, Broke open
the [..] Burean of Mr Viall's with a Chissell which he
afterwards threw into a Pond.That the said Charles
Chapman
< no role > told this Informant, that after he had
Committed the Robbery he went into a Field
adjoining to the New Road, where he Cutt up a Turf
