The Information of Sampson Wessels< no role >
andtaken before
Us two of his Majesty's Justices of the
Peace for the said County City & Liberty

Who being severally upon Oath sayAndfirstthis Informt.
Sampson Wessels for himself saith that he is a Dealer
in Old Cloaths and other things that on a Wednesday the begining
of the Month of March last this Informant met with a Person
now Present who calls himself Edward Jones< no role > (whom this
Informant had known before) in Oxford Sheet together in
Company with the other person now present who calls
himself John Hawkins< no role > when Jones asked this
Informant to go and drink a pot of Beer with him that
accordingly they all there went to a Public House near
adjoining when this Informant asked the said Jones how
he became acquainted with the other Young Fellow (meaning
the said John Hawkins< no role > ) when Jones replied that he
was his Partner when Jones entered into a Conversation
with this Informant touching his buying of Plate and
other things when Jones complained that other people
whom he death with did not give a fit price for them
Complaining that he had lately Sold Fifteen Watches
to Isaac Volier for Nine Guineas only when Jones
and the other person (meaning the said Hawkins)
proposed that this Informant should procure a Purchase
for a large Quantity of Plate which they told this Informt
they should certainly become Possessed of upon the
Saturday Following and offered to bring the same to
this Informants House for the purpose of selling it
and looking direction for that purpose
upon which this Informant say'd he could have nothing
to do with it himself having no Money nor did he
Know any body who would be concerned it in it And
this Informant further saith that upon Monday Morning
following he heard of a great Robbery having been Committed
and a very large Quantity of plate Stolen as this Informant
thinks and verily believes from the House of [..]
