The Information of
William Herring< no role >
taken
before me this 6th. day of May 1775
Who being upon Oath says that one day in the beginning
of April last he met William Cates< no role >
in Drury Lane
who asked
this Informant to bail him above in an Action brought against
the said William Cates< no role >
by Mr. Crisp the Turnkey of the King's
Bench Prison
, that two or three hours afterwards he again
saw the said William Cates< no role >
and then told him be thought it
would be impossible for him to attend at the Judge's Chambers
at the Time necessary to bail him, that he did not to the
best of his Knowledge and belief give the said William
Cates< no role >
any Authority or Consent to acknowledge Bail
in this Informant's Name in the Action above mentioned
either then or at any Time before, and that the said
William Cates< no role >
never afterwards applied to this Informant
for that purpose
