Again on the Saturday following for that a Gentleman from Some Lords in Piccadilly
(they Could not Recollect the Title) wanted her and She Should be there way Saturday
Night they directed this Deponent to a Dutch Woman two doors from the Angel an
Acquaintance of said Smallbrook to whom She this Deponent went the next Morning being Thursday who Informed her that She had Lodged with
her Some little time before but she did not at that time know or Could she tell where
She did Lodge, and sent her Son a little Boy with her to Orchard Street by the
Almonry to a Clack or Negro Woman called Jennywho is likewise
Acquainted with said Smalbrook and who informed her that She very well
knew Smallbrook, but Could not tell where She then Lodged or where she was to be
found, from thence She went to the Blue Anchor in the Broad Way Westminster
where she was very well known but they Could not inform her where She lodged
but informed her that Smallbrook kept Company with one Jack Dawkins< no role >
a Soldier , and directed her to his Serjant one Billers at the Feathers Publick
House in or near Castle Street , whom She found Says that the Serjant Examined the
Books and informed her that Dawkins was sent with a party to Windsor he
knew the Woman by the Description but could not tell where she was only
that she sometimes Accompany'd with Dawkins. Deponent then went back
to the Angel and to the said Dutch Woman and desired her Boy to go in the Evening
and if Smallbrook came to either of the abovementioned places to Acquaint her the
next Morning, Says that not hearing from the Boy she went a friday Morning
again to the Said Dutch Womans in Tothill Street who informed her that her Boy
had been over Night to the angel the Feather and the Blue Anchor to see and Enquire
for Smallbrook but Could not see her or get any intelligence and as Deponent left the
Dutch Womans Lodging and Passed by the Angel Door She Saw a poor Working
Woman whom She asked if she knew Such a Woman as Smallbrook She say'd no
but, directed her up a Yard to two Dutch Women who She Say'd were likely to
inform her but on being applyed to the say'd they County tell nothing of her she
then Came home to Lord Egremonts and on her way Enquired of many, persons and
at Several Lodging Houses for information of Smallbrook but all to no purpose
otherwise than being told that she worked in the County but no one Could tell whose
or at what place Upon which the next Evening Saturday She went again to many of
the places before mentioned in Westminster but Could not find her and among the
rest to the Dutch Womans Lodgings who being out had left word that if the
person Enquired again for Smallbrook She must leave Word at what place she
was wanted [..] she did leave Word that it was at the Blue Posts the Corner of C [..]
StreetPiccadilly near Egremont House and desired She might Come there.
Sunday Morning She with her fellow Servant the other Deponent Lynken went
again to the Angel was informed that she had not been there the Saturday Evening
then Deponent went to the Dutch Woman Mrs. Clower and brought her into
the Angel to Lynken who informed him that smallbrook Usually came to the Angel
of a Saturday Night but that She Could not tell where she Lodged, that Lynken and
her went from the Angel to almost all the Publick Houses in the Neighbourhood of
of Westminster but could not find her or hear where she was to be found though She
was known at almost every place. She was directed to a Gin Shop near the
Angel
