in and for the said County of Middlesex
this 1st. Day of February 1774
This Informant upon his Oath saith
that he found Dennis Doyle< no role >
in the
Dwelling House of John Swan< no role >
about
between the Hours of Eight or Nine in the
Evening of the 26th. Day of January 1774 and
upon asking of him what he did there he told him
his name was Swan the Landlord
of the House
and desired him to let him go about his Business
but this Informant told him that his name was
not Sworn and that he would not let him go till Mr
or Mrs Swan came Home who were out and the
said Dennis Doyle had in his Hand a Bundle of
Wet Linnen when he laid hold of him which
appears to be the property of the said John Swan
as he verily believes as soon as this Informant
came into the House of the said John Swan and
