Middlesex to wit

The Information of Catherine
Brown
< no role > a Widowof Archer Street
in the Parish of St James in the Liberty
of Westminster & County of Middlesex
Widow and Robert Pevesell of the
some Place Leather Breeches maker
taken upon Oath this 22d. day of
October 1774 before me one of his
Majestys Justices of the Peace in & for
the said County as also of Dennis

of the Parish of Saint Giles in the
fields in the said County taken at
the same time before me the said
Justices

And first this Informant Catherine Brown< no role > for herself
saith that she is a Widow & keeps a Leather Breeches
makers Shop at the Place abovementioned & that on or
about the 19th. day of July last 1774 James Conner< no role > the
Person now present came to the House of this Informant
and tryed on a pair of Leather Breeches of the Value of
Twenty seven Shillings and say'd (previous to his trying)
them on) that if they fitted him he would pay her the said
Sum in leady Money for the same [..] accordingly [..]
[..] the other Informant Robert
Peverell (pursuant to his Order) carried them to the
Rummer Tavern Charing Cross where he sayd he
would pay ready Money for the same but the said James
Conner
< no role > took the said Breeches & run away with them
And this Informant Robert Pevesell for himself saith
that he is an Apprentice to the other Informant that
and serves in her said Shop & is the only Servant the
said Catherine Brown< no role > hath that on the Day & Year
aforesaid the said James Conner< no role > came to his Mistress
said Shop and agreed to pay the Sum of Twenty Seven
Shillings for a pair of Leather Breeches on the Delivery
thereof & desired this Informant would bring then
to the Rummer Tavern where he should be paid for them
Immediately In pursuance of which this Informant
carried the pair of Leather Breeches to the Rummer
Tavern where the said James Conner< no role > put them on
