Middlesex

These are to Certify that at the Delivery of the Kings Gaol of Newgate
holden for the County of Middlesex at Justice Hall in the Old Bailey in the
Suburbs of the City of London on Wednesday the Twentieth day of October in
the Thirteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third King
of Great Britain Etc Before James Townsend< no role > Esquire Mayor of the City of
London Sir Richard Adams< no role > Knight one of the Barons of our said Lord the
King of his Court of Exchequer , Sir Henry Gould< no role > Knight one of the Justices
of our said Lord the King of his Court of Common Pleas , Samuel Turner< no role >
Esquire one of the Aldermen of the said City of London , Barlow Precothick< no role >
Esquire one other of the Aldermen of the said City, John Glynn< no role > Serjant at
[..] aw Recorder of the said City and others their Fellows Justices of our said
Lord the King Assigned to deliver the Gaol of our said Lord the King
of Newgate of the Prisoners therein being Mary Thompson< no role > by the name
and Addition of Mary the Wife of George Norton< no role > late of the Parish of Saint
Georges Hanover Square in the County of Middlesex Labourer was Tried
For That she on the Thirteenth day of September in the Thirteenth
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third King of Great
Britain Etc with Force and arms at the Parish aforesaid in the County
aforesaid One pair of Cotton Stockings of the Value of three Pence Thirty
Eight pieces of Copper Coin of the Value of Eighteen pence and Three
Shillings and Six Pence in Monies Numbered of the Goods Chattles and
Monies of George Harden< no role > then and there being found Feloniously did
Steal take and Carry away against the peace of our said Lord the King his
Crown and Dignity And thereupon by a Jury of the Country taken
between our said Lord the King and her the said Mary Norton< no role > she was
Convicted and was then and there Ordered by the said Court to be
Transported as soon as Conveniently may be to some of his Majestys Colinies
and Plantations in America for the Space of Seven Years pursuant to the
Statute in that Case made and provided as by the Record there of in my
Custody may more fully and at large appear dated this 22d. day of October
1774.
