The Information of William Stephens< no role >
and William Vincent< no role > taken before me
this 18th. day of August 1774

Who being upon Oath, say and first the said William Stephens< no role > says that on Tuesday Night the 9th.
Instant he had a grey Gelding stolen out of a field near
Stratford in Essex which Gelding he has since seen in the
Possession of Mr. Bever in St. Martin's Lane , and the said
William Vincent< no role > for himself Says that he is Servant to
the said Mr. Bever, & that a person now present who calls
himself Joseph Doggett< no role > brought the said Gelding to
the said Mr. Bever's Stables to be sold, and these
Informants further say that they do verily believe
that the said Joseph Doggett< no role > stole the said Gelding
