Also to Consult with him the said Henry Goodman< no role > what Stops
were Necessary to be taken in order to get the said Defendant
to Surrender him in discharge of themselves as his Bail And
All these Deponents for themselves Severally Say that on Consulting
together for the purpose aforesaid these Deponents did Imagine
that the said Defendant (if Absconded ) was gone for Holland
at which place he had Connections and traded largely as
these Deponents had been informed and believes and Resolved
to go in Pursuit of him the said Defendant and if Possible
to take him in order to Surrender him in discharge of these
Deponents as his Bail And these Deponents Severally Say
that in Pursuance of their said Resolution they these
Deponents immediately took Post Chaise and Set off to an
Gravesend and other different Places for taking Shiping and
did there make the most diligent Search and Enquiry on board
Several Outward Bound Vessels and in the Turns and other likely
places there for the Reception of Travellers on Shore in hopes to
find out the said Defendant in order to have taken and
Surrendred him in discharge of themselves as his Bail but were
not able to find out the said Defendant And these Deponents further
severally say that they have frequently from time to time
since made the most Street and Diligent Search and Enquiry
to find out the said Defendant in Order to have Surrendred
him as aforesaid but have not been able so to do And
these Deponents Severally say that they have heard and
believes that a Bill of Indictment was at the last Session
of Gaol Delivery held for the City of London in the said
Month of April one Thousand Seven hundred and Seventy two
preferred and found against the said Defendant for the
Offence aforesaid and that he the said Defendant not
appearing to answer the same these Deponents Recognizance
became forfeited And these Deponents further Say that they
have been since informed and verily believe that the said
Defendant is now in Holland And these Deponents Severally-
