County of Middlesex Yeoman Maketh Oath and Saith that on or
about the Eleventh day of August last he with one William
Baker< no role > and George Trumwells was bound by a Recognizance in
the penal Sum of Forty pounds before John Barnfather< no role > Esquire
one of his Majesty's Justices of the peace for the County of
Middlesex to prefer a Bill of Indictment at Hicks Hall in Saint
John Street and prosecute and give Evidence thereon at the then next
Session of Gaol Delivery of Newgate to be holden for the said County of

Carrying away a purse Three Guineas in Gold and Ten Shillings in
Monies Numbered the property of this Deponent And this Deponent
Saith that the next day after he was so bound in Recognizance and at

informed that soon after she had been Examined she Escaped from a
Watchman who had the Custody of her in the Rotation office And this
deponent hath since been informed by a person who calls herself the

went out of Town a day or two after she had made her Escape with
intention to go abroad into Foreign Parts and that she had been seen
on the fourteenth day of September last at Portsmouth and this Deponent
hath also since been informed that one Henry Burten was at the last
Session of Gaol Delivery of Newgate holden for the County of Middlesex
Indicted for Feloniously rescuing the said Elizabeth Gurney< no role > This name instance is in set 1944. on the
Twelfth day of August last out of the Custody of Richard Dignam< no role > a
Constable he being then conveying her to the said Gaol of Newgate in
pursuance of a Commitment under the hand of the said John Barnfather< no role >
Esquire for the Felony aforesaid all which Information this Deponent
believes to be true And this Deponent further Saith that he did not neglect
to prefer a Bill of Indictment and give Evidence thereon against the said
Elizabeth Gurney< no role > This name instance is in set 1944. through any favour or Affection or for any Reward or the
hope or premise thereof therefore this Deponent humbly prays that this
Honourable Court will be pleased to Order his said Recognizance to be discharged.
