said Indictment but that on the contrary if these Deponent had, had the least Information there of these
Deponents would have Surrendered him in discharge of themselves as his Bail And that
they these Deponents or either of them or any Person or Persons for them have nor hath
not received any Indemnification Reward Gain or Profit for or on account of becoming
Bail for the said Defendant or do they or either of them expert so to do but that the only
Motive which induced these Deponents so to become Bail for the said Defendant
was the good Opinion they then entertained of him and from a thorough Belief of the
Defendants Innocence of the Crime with which he was accused and his Strongest
Assurances that he would be ready to appear when called upon And that if these
Deponents or any of them had been in the least Apprehensive that the said Defendt.
would not have appeared pursuant to the Condition of the said Recognizance they
these Deponents would have Seized and Surrendred the said Defendant in discharge
of themselves as aforesaid And Lastly these Deponents Say that they will use
there Utmost and best Endeavours to apprehend the said Defendant in order to
Surrender him to Answer the said Indictment Which these Deponents
apprehend and belive they shall be able to do some time in the next Spring
When these Deponents are informed and verily believe the said Defendant will
Return to England when and at all times these Deponents will use their
almost Endeavours to apprehend or cause the said Defendant to be apprehended
in order that the may be Surrendered to appear and take his Tryal upon the
said Indictment in Discharge of these Deponents said Recognizance
If this Honourable Court would please to respite these Deponents Recognizance
[..] to give them an Oppertunity so to do inorder to Discharge themselves as
Bail for the said Defendant
