The Information of John Dixon< no role >
an Evidence in his Majesty's behalf
taken before Us two of his Majesty's
Justices of the Peace for the said
County City & Liberty

Who being upon Oath saith that he hath
been acquainted with Alliot Melville< no role > three or four
years that the said Alliot Melville< no role > introduced this
Informant to the acquaintance of the person now
present who calls himself John Cox< no role > about two
Months ago when the said John Cox< no role > asked this
Informant if he could sell or dispose of any Shoes
for him & his Informt. replying that he could the
said John Cox< no role > desired this Informt. to come to his
Masters shop Door in Holborn at about 5'o Clock
in a Morning & that he would then give him some
Shops to sell that this Informt went to the said
Shop four or five different times and did there receive
from the hands of the sd. John Cox< no role > at the Different
times he went there about Sixteen pair of Shoes
(mostly Mens) in the wholeand this Informant
Used to sell them in Rag Fair & other placesand
then used to meet with & Share the Money between
himself & the said John Cox< no role > .

And this Informant further saith that about
a fortnight before he became acquainted with the said
John Cox< no role > Alliot Melville< no role > brought a pair of new
Mens Shoes to this Informants Lodgings desiring
him to sell them. that there being a Shop mark
upon the said Shoes this Informant asked Melville
if it was not the the shop Mark of William Atchley< no role > Shoe maker
in Holborn when Melville replied that it was
this Informant sold the said Shoes in Rag Fair
for half a Crown gave Melville two Shillings of
the Money & kept the other Six pence for his Trouble
