Who being upon Oath says that one Night about 5 or 6 weeks before
Michaelmas last one John Clark< no role >
who was a Lodger at her house & one John
Joseph Defoe< no role >
otherwise Brown otherwise Smith loaded four Pistols in
the Said John Clarks< no role >
Room and went out together, that the Evening
following the said John Clark< no role >
& the said John Joseph Defoe< no role >
drew Lot
in the said John Clark< no role >
's Room [..] to decide how two Kings which were
then produced should be divided between them when it fell out that
the said John Joseph Defoe< no role >
should have a Gold King with a green Stone which
was produced before Sir John Fielding< no role >
yesterday and that the said
John Clark< no role >
should have another Gold King set with a Red
Stone the Impression of which was a Man's head, says that on Mary
Kirby< no role >
was in the Room with the Said John Clark< no role >
& John Joseph Defoe< no role >
when they drew Lots as aforesaid and that she this Informant
was in the Room adjoining and this Informant further says that the
next Evening the said John Clark< no role >
told this Informant that the aforesaid
two Kings were taken off a Gold Watcher which was sold to
Thomas Grindall< no role >
for ten Guineas.
