before me this 4th. day of March 1768
Who being upon Oath says that he lives in Quiet Row White chapel
says that Charlotte Smith< no role >
lodges in his house, that the said Charlotte
and a person now present who calls herself Mary Colston brought a
person now present who calls himself George Ryley< no role >
into his house on Ask
Wednesday at Night, that they went all three into the said Charlotte's Room
that in a little time this Informant heard a Noise (being then in Company
with John Waters< no role >
now in Custody) whereupon they went into the room from
whence the said Noise came and found the aforesaid Ryley
complaining of having been Robbed of his Watch, upon which
Informt. desired them, the two aforesaid Women to return the Watch
to said George Ryley< no role >
instead of which, Charlotte Smith< no role >
gave
it privately to said John Waters< no role >
and that he this Informant the next
Morning rced. the said Watch from said waters with directions
to Pawn it, says he did not Pawn it himself but sent it to Pledge
by Elizabeth Sevier now present, and waited in the Street at Shoreditch
near Mrs.
Matham's Pawn brokers there, whilst said Sevier Pledged
said Watch with her, says after this he this Informt. Conducted
her to John Waters< no role >
at the Weavers Arms in Shoreditch
where he
was waiting for Informt. by appointment where and sixteen Shillings
for which said Watch was Pledged was equally divided between
said Waters and this Informant
