taken before me this 11th. day of
March 1768
Who being on Oath says that he was at his Grace the Duke of
Richmonds House in Privy Gardens on Tuesday last the 8th. of March
where he saw a person now present who calls himself James
Sampson< no role >
who gave him Directions in what part of his Lodgings to
find the Bank Notes now produced Viz. Eight Bank Notes of
fifty pounds each Letter H No. 257, 258, 259, 260, 261, 262,
263, 264 all payable to Thomas Williams< no role >
and dated the 2nd.
of March 1768 and [..] three Bank Notes of one hundred
pounds each Viz. K. No. 92 payable to A. Newland dated the
22nd, Janry. 1768-K No. 93 payable to A. Newland dated the
22nd. Janry. 1768 & K 95 payable to A. Newland dated 22nd. Janry. 1768
and farther says that he went to the Lodgings of the said Sampson
near Buckingham
Gate with William Smith< no role >
a Constable where
he found all the aforesaid Notes agreeable to the Directions
of the said James Sampson< no role >
