Maketh Oath that he this Deponent was at the
City of Exeter on the twenty fourth and twenty fifth Days
of December Last and that he received his Discharge
from the Company belonging to Lieutenant Colonel
Maddison Called [..] a Company of the Kings own
Regiment, on the said twenty fifth Day of Decem-
ber last, which was in Writing and or the Hand
of the said Lieutenant Colonel George Maddison< no role >
which is hereunto annexed, and that he was
discharged as being Dreperial and Spitting Blood
that this Deponent has caused diligent Inquiry to
be made after the said Colonel Maddison and he is
credibly informed and beleives it to be true, that the
said Colonel Maddison in now at the City of
Exeter, and that this Deponent cannot safely
take his Tryal without having the said Colonel

's Testimony he being a most
material Witness for this Deponent and
that Will use his utmost Endeavours to
have the said Colonel Maddison in
Court at the next Sessions that he may
have the Benefit of his Evidence
